Call for abstract/papers
Due to the current developments regarding COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to inform you that in consultation with RSS Conference Permanent Steering Committee, we have decided to postpone the RSS Conference to 08-10 June 2022.
We hope to welcome all attendees at the RSS Conference on the new date and make a successful live conference!
Furthermore, we will re-open the call for new abstracts to be submitted, according to the following time schedule:
28th June 2021 5th July 2021: New Abstracts submission deadline (up to 500 words)
6th September 202113th September 2021: Notification of acceptance deadline (approximate)
10th December 2021 31st December 2021: Full-text paper submission deadline
Although we have already received very intresting and diverse abstracts, there is room for new insights and ideas about our broad range of topics related to road safety. Therefore, we welcome further abstracts on all conference topics that present original research, not published or presented prior to the RSS2022 conference. Abstracts are due by
28th June 2021 5th July 2021; they are limited to 1 page and should follow the RSS2022 abstract template format.
Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Review Committee. Individual abstracts will receive at least two reviews. Abstract review criteria will include:
- Relevance to RSS2022 audience and topics
- Sufficient description of the discussed research to reach a review decision

Please note that full papers must include research results in order to be considered for paper review. On-going studies that present preliminary results at this stage, but can guarantee to present the full results by the conference date, will also be considered for paper review.Full paper submissions will be peer reviewed by the Scientific Review Committee. Review assignments will be based on area of expertise. Each paper will be assigned to at least two reviewers who will provide feedback on the paper content and recommendations on paper acceptance. Accepted papers will be selected either for oral presentation or poster presentation. Review criteria include:
- Paper structure
- Research methodology
- Validity of results
- Scientific contribution
Before the Conference, selected papers will be proposed for publication (after review by the Journals) at the following Special Issues of the International Scientific Journals:

- Safety Science on "Advanced Road Safety Analyses"
