The road safety impact assessment of infrastructure projects (RSIA) highlights at strategic level the consequences on road safety of different design solutions in a project before selecting the optimum solution. RSIA takes place at an early planning stage allowing the results of this assessment to be taken into account at the further planning and design process and at all interventions on the transportation systems that may have an impact on road safety. The objective of this work is the gathering and analysis of international experience and the development of a standard methodology for the implementation of road safety impact assessment for infrastructure projects in Greece.
