The aim of this study is the identification of the parameters leading to the increased risk of two-wheel riders and the development of a framework of appropriate countermeasures to deal with this phenomenon. Initially, the parameters leading to the increased risk of two-wheel riders were analysed and classified, according to Greek and international literature. Specific measures have been proposed for facing the increased risk of two-wheelers. More specifically, the proposed measures refer to legislation, young two-wheelers riders, vehicle, road environment and the interrelation of two-wheelers with other road users. The analysis of two wheel risk parameters identified within this research allowed for the development of the framework with the respective countermeasures. Further research should take place in order to provide a safer environment for the two-wheel riders both in terms of their own behaviour but also in terms of the overall road traffic environment.
