According to the provisional data from CARE database and European Transport Safety Council (ETSC), road fatalities in Europe in 2024 presented a slight decrease (2%) compared to 2023 figures and have decreased by 17,4% during the period 2014-2024, leading to 4,203 less road fatalities (2024) in comparison to 2014. Furthermore, six countries (BE, LT, LU, LV, PL, SI) have reached reduction of more than 30% for the period 2014-2024. In 2014, Lithuania recorded the best road fatalities reduction progress among all EU countries.
